Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following lawful bases as defined by Article 6 of the UK GDPR:

  • Contract: Processing necessary for the performance of a contract with you, such as booking and delivering tour services.
  • Legitimate Interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as improving our services and communicating relevant information, provided these interests do not override your rights.
  • Legal Obligation: Processing necessary to comply with legal requirements, such as financial record-keeping.
  • Consent: Where you have given clear consent for specific processing activities.

Your Rights Under GDPR

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is commonly known as a Subject Access Request (SAR). We will respond to such requests within one month.

Right to Rectification

You have the right to request correction of personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Right to Erasure

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances, such as when the data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Right to Restrict Processing

You have the right to request restriction of processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, such as when you contest the accuracy of the data.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller.

Right to Object

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes.

Rights Related to Automated Decision Making

You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not currently engage in such automated decision making.

Exercising Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided above. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond to valid requests within one month, though this period may be extended by two months for complex requests.

There is no fee for exercising your rights in most cases. However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

Data Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including:

  • Secure storage of personal data
  • Access controls limiting who can view personal information
  • Regular review of data processing activities
  • Staff training on data protection principles

Data Breach Procedures

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach. Where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will also notify you directly.

International Data Transfers

Your personal data is primarily processed within the United Kingdom. If we need to transfer data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the Information Commissioner.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. Booking records are retained for six years following completion of the service for legal and accounting purposes. Marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw consent.

Complaints

If you are unsatisfied with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:
